Happy New Year

Bonjour from Port Chalmers.

We trust you all had a good break over the Christmas holidays and are now turning your thoughts to travel.   We spent much of our time preparing photos and text for our new, tidier web site, which is now LIVE.   In the NEWS pages we’ve included some old restaurant reviews for places that are still going strong - great memories ……  Please check it out and let us now your reaction.  It’s always good to get feedback (of any kind).

There are still special prices available on most of the rental boats, and Le Boat are having a FLASH SALE from tomorrow (Thursday) with 15-30% discounts!  While many of the hotel barges are heavily booked, some are offering 20% discount on cabins for specific cruises in April, May and August.  Outside France, the 12 passenger PANACHE has three cabins available with a 20% reduction for its 'tulip cruise' in Holland starting on 31 March 2024 and LA BELLA VITA offers a similar discount for its cruises starting 12 & 19 May and 2 June 2024 between Venice and Mantua.

 Our Backroad Discovery self-guided cycling and walking holidays are proving popular and include new routes around the Gulf of Morbihan in Brittany and in Provence.

James of the Walking Party, who was christened ‘Tour Guide of the Year’ from clients who completed his Haut Quercy and Basque Pyrenees walks, is now gearing up for his Truffle Hop in February. Last year several people missed out on the Transhumance walk as it was quickly fully booked, so get in touch now if you want to experience this unique festival, Michelin starred restaurants and a region of stunning landscapes with spring flowers galore.  Dates are 25 to 31 May 2024 and the all-inclusive price is 3290 Euros per person.
