Annual escorted tours - each September we take one or two groups of 6-8 people around our favourite towns, villages, restaurants and wineries. We travel by minibus with Robert driving and Barbara guiding. Sometimes we add a boating week too. Our 2012 TASTE FRANCE tours are in Burgundy & the Dordogne. Freewheeling France - our self-drive motoring holidays for independent travellers. There are nine sample six-night programmes, but we customise all itineraries to suit your interests and requirements. Freewheeling France gives you the freedom of independent travel with the security of a detailed route guide, pre-booked hotels, restaurant and sight-seeing recommendations, even advice on where to park - an "invisible escort" in fact. Our biggest repeat holiday. Six nights from $990 pp. Backroad Discovery - a wide choice of independent cycling & walking holidays, for all levels of fitness, experience and ambition. All routes include accommodation, most meals, detailed route guides, maps and luggage transfers. Hotel barge cruising - the ultimate unwinding holiday, fully crewed barges sleep 4-20 in air-conditioned, en suite cabins. The price includes all meals, wine, excursions, bikes and transfers, which are usually to and from Paris, so very easy and convenient for Kiwi travellers. Most barges take individual bookings or charters. A charter booking gives your family or group the whole boat, plus excursions tailored to your party's interests (wine, golf, cooking, architecture, art, etc). In addition to barges in France, we have boats in Germany, UK, Holland, Ireland and Italy. Rental Boats - our very popular self drive, self catering holidays on the extensive French waterways - we'll find the best boat on the best route for you. We have boats for 2-10 people, including some in the Midi and Southern Burgundy which are designed for wheelchair passengers. On some routes it's possible to hire a pilot to drive the boat. We also have boats in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, UK and Netherlands. Language & cooking courses - Ecole des Trois Ponts in Roanne, an easy and picturesque train ride from Lyon, offers week-long French language courses at all levels, several cooking courses, or a mixture of language and cooking in the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the Chateau de Martel. Roanne is also home to the famous 3-star restaurant Troisgros. Customised group tours - We've organised all sorts of special tours for groups of 4 to 20 people. Boating is great for groups, both self drive rentals and hotel barge charters. For landlubbers, we can arrange a special cycling tour, a convoy of cars or motorbikes, or your own private driver-guide. Our specialist areas are food, wine and gardens, but ask us about any special interest tour you have in mind - Robert loves a challenge! Bonus services - Anyone who books one of our holidays goes away with all sorts of useful extra information such as train connections, airport transfers and restaurant suggestions.
