Rental boats-FPP

Rental boats offer wonderful, relaxing holidays on the extensive network of waterways throughout France and in Europe.

FPP-Tarpon

FRANCE PASSION PLAISANCE (FPP) is a French company offering a diverse fleet of boats from 44 bases throughout France and Europe. They also manufacture the Tarpon range of boats at their home base in Burgundy.

  • Our favourite boats have ensuite bathrooms, easy access from inside to the bow and stern, and a flying bridge where everyone can join the ‘pilot’ and enjoy  lunch and dinner outdoors.  Their three Premium (4 star) Tarpon boats fit that category perfectly and sleep 4, 6 or 8 people in good sized cabins with ensuite bathrooms. They also have a selection of good Tarpon boats in their well priced Classic fleet. The Tarpon 32 (3 star) doesn’t have the ‘bells and whistles’ of its big brother Tarpon 37 Duo Prestige (4 star), but is very comfortable, easy to handle and both cabins have ensuite bathrooms and a child’s bunk, which can also be handy for storage.
  • Our favourite routes are the one way cruises along the canals of Alsace and the rivers of Anjou, plus the beautiful Charente River for out and back cruises; preferably for ten days or more.

FPP-Tarpon moored reflection-1

  • In Alsace the bases at Languimberg and Hochfelden are relatively close together (60kms), but offer a good one way cruise with the choice of extending the route north into the regional park scattered with lakes, woods and wildlife, or west towards Nancy, or east towards Strasbourg.  This canal features the pine-clad slopes of the Vosges Mountains, picture-postcard villages, great food & wine and the adventure of the Arzviller boat lift and two tunnels.

FPP-peaceful river

  • In Anjou the bases at Chenillé-Changé (north of Angers) and Le Mans offer a delightful one way river cruise through gentle countryside dotted with woods, historic towns and chateaux, plus the pottery of Malicorne.  A great region for swimming in the river, and cycling.

Charente-John

  •  The Charente River is easy to navigate between Saint Savinien and Angouleme – and FPP’s base is right in the middle at Cognac.  Often described as the most beautiful river in France, the Charente is most famous for cognac and Pineau des Charentes and there are lots of tasting opportunities along its banks. Add the wonderful Roman town of Saintes, the ancient abbey in Bassac, a chocolaterie at Trois Palis, excellent restaurants,  peace and quiet, and you have the perfect get-away holiday.
